Why relationships matter

We evolved to live in a community within a tribe of people. In fact, our survival depended upon it. Although we live in the 21st century, we still yearn for that sense of belonging. We thrive in community. We are wired for connection.

As humans, we are constantly in relationship with everything around us.

We are in relationship with ourselves: our bodies, our minds, our emotions, and our spirit. We have relationships to more esoteric concepts: work, stress, creativity, food, time and money. We have relationships to people: acquaintances, friends, colleagues, family members, and romantic partner(s).
